Coach Wilkerson begins his second year as head coach of UCI. For four years, Mike has been an assistant coach at Claremont College under the tutelage of the renowned head coach Pete Ginnegar, who has coached every level of lacrosse from NCAA to MCLA. In his first year coaching, the cougars tied for first the WCLL B division south, and in his second year, they were ranked as high as second in the nation. The Cougs found great success reaching a ranking of number one in the nation and attending the national tournament their final year in Division B. Coach Wilkerson brings a veritable wealth of lacrosse knowledge to the Cougars Program, growing up in Canada he was exposed to some of the world’s greatest lacrosse at a young age. Coach Wilkerson attended Whittier College from 1998-2002, graduating with a degree in economics. During his tenure, Whittier developed into the powerhouse of west coast lacrosse under the tutelage of legendary coach Doug Locker. In his senior year the Poets reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA division III national championship.
