Welcome to Verona Youth Wrestling Club!

 

The Verona Youth Wrestling Club is committed to improving the minds and bodies of young wrestlers. The club was founded over 22 years ago and is designed to instruct kids from K-8 in the fundamentals of wrestling, provide competition, teach good sportsmanship, but mostly to HAVE FUN!

 

For the past 22 years, boys and girls, K-8th, and all sizes and skill levels, have signed up for this fun winter sport.  Successful football players like Wisconsin Badger-Anthony Davis, NFL Stars- Tony Siragusa, Bruce Smith, Ricky Williams, Ray Lewis, Eric Rhett, Mike Golic, and Ronnie Lott have all wrestled.  These football players credit wrestling with teaching them discipline and recall that this amazing sport taught them how to be confident individuals and strong team players. 

Program Information

Sign Up Night: Wednesday, December 12th, 2012 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm in the Verona HS Cafeteria/Commons. 

Place: Verona Area High School Wrestling Room

Age: Grade K – 8th

Program Dates and Times: Monday’s and Wednesday’s December through March: specifics below:

Practice Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays for 2012-13

December 17th – March 6th

• K-4th 6-7pm & 5th-8th 7-8:15pm
• Please keep in mind that if Verona High School does not have school on a Monday or Wednesday we will not have practice.  In addition we will not have practice on  December 24th, December 26th, December 31st, January 21st.

Fee:

• $75.00, which includes a USA card, insurance, a club T-shirt, Verona wrestling bag and admittance to our tournament

Mandatory Parent’s Meeting- Jan 2, 2013 6:30pm (wrestling singlets will be handed out at this meeting…please bring your check book for the $60 singlet deposit – this check will not be cashed and discarded at the end of the year when the singlet is returned)

Calling all VAYC families; the financial success of our club relies on our tournament.  Therefore we require each family to volunteer to help the Warm up to Regionals tournament. If you are not able to help, you will be required to pay the club a $75.00 fee.
