2012 Tour of Britain misses out our region.
Apr. 26, 2012 James P Warrener talks you through it...
There is good news. The 2012 Tour of Britain looks like being the toughest yet with stages through both the Welsh Mountains and an epic Lake District stage.
Hopes of a first home winner will be high in the form of Team Endura's Jon Tiernan-Locke who has already taken it to the big European pro teams in the Tour of the Med and Haut Var. Sky will obviously have a strong prescence in their home Tour and Garmin will have a squad full of riders who can cope with the tricky course and changeable weather.

The race has a flat start in Suffolk before a tough looking undulating stage from Nottingham.
After a transfer there will be tough stages in Dumfries and the lakes which will cause big time gaps in the GC.
Someone will be hanging on to the yellow jersey for dear life into the West Country, that's for sure!
It looks a great course which will hopefully see some decent racing and a worthy winner.
Can't wait.
