The FLAME are in their third season together as a team, however this season has seen some new arrivals to the squad which last year was very small making game days very physical for the lads, often only being able to field a squad of six or seven. This season the squad has full roster of 12 players, though this season will be a difficult one, not least because the EBL have in their wisdom placed Flame in the Midlands South Conference and all but one of their opponents are teams that the lads have never played against. The only team we face from last year is of course our local rivals the Warriors. Road trips are harder as the region extends down to Southend, so long trips ahead.
Flame train every Wednesday evening and Saturday mornings and are looking to improve on their standings from last season which was their first season together.
Four of the Flame team are also members of the Burleigh Riders Academy and a number of players have attended major basketball camps in the summer, including YUBAC in Serbia. Two of the lads also travelled to Finland in the summer to play in the Delphim Tournament under the direction of Coaches John Smith (Young Heroes) and Mike New (Milton Keynes Lions). The squad brought back the Bronze Medal.
